Harley Davidson went to an "Electronic Throttle" configuration at the hand grip in 2008 with their touring line up. They slowly began implementing this configuration (This type of connector was used up until 2015) and it has become common place for most of Harley's Bikes. Some love it, some don't, but eitherway "Throttle by Wire" is what is used for most Harley's!
